Terms of Service
Last updated: 8/9/2026
Welcome to Qurbill ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Qurbill governing your use of the Qurbill mobile application and associated services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately cease using the Service.
1. Description of Service
Qurbill is a personal finance and expense-sharing utility designed to help users track personal and group expenses. The Service allows users to scan receipts using Artificial Intelligence, assign costs, monitor budgets, and generate UPI deep-links to facilitate external payments.
Disclaimer on Payments & UPI IDs: We do not process fiat currency payments, act as a payment gateway, or hold user funds in a wallet. All monetary transfers are executed solely via third-party UPI applications (e.g., Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm). Therefore, we do not collect payment processing fees, and we cannot issue refunds, reverse transactions, or guarantee the delivery of funds for peer-to-peer transfers.
User Responsibility for UPI IDs: Users are required to manually input their own UPI IDs into the application. You are solely responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the UPI ID you enter for yourself or select for a friend. If a transaction fails, is delayed, or if funds are sent to the wrong bank account because of an incorrect UPI ID, Qurbill holds strictly zero liability. We do not act as a financial medium, we do not verify UPI IDs against bank records, and we have no technical ability to trace, retrieve, or refund misdirected payments. Any dispute regarding a misdirected payment must be resolved directly between you, the other user, and the respective UPI provider or bank.
2. Eligibility and Age Requirements
Under the Indian Contract Act, 1872, individuals under the age of 18 are considered minors and are not legally competent to enter into a contract. Therefore, you must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the tracking features on Qurbill independently. If you are under the age of 18, your parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf, and you represent that you have their explicit consent to use the Service.
Important Notice Regarding UPI Payments: Actually settling debts via UPI deep-links requires you to meet the legal age and eligibility requirements of your respective bank and UPI provider (which is typically 18+ in India). Qurbill holds no liability for unauthorized financial transactions executed by minors or individuals lacking legal capacity.
3. Account Creation and Security
- You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- You are solely responsible for safeguarding the confidentiality of your account credentials (e.g., your device, Phone OTPs, Google Account).
- You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to or use of your account. We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account.
4. User Content and Shadow Accounts
When you upload receipt images or provide text data to the app ("User Content"), you represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary licenses and permissions to use and share that content.
Contacts Access: Qurbill allows you to add friends from your device's address book. By granting contact access, you explicitly confirm that you have the permission of your contacts to upload their phone numbers to our Service to facilitate expense splitting.
You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, store, process (via AI), and display your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service to you and your selected friends.
5. Acceptable Use and Community Guidelines
To maintain a safe and functional environment, you agree NOT to:
- Commit Fraud: Initiate fake transactions, harass others with fraudulent debt claims, or attempt to scam users through UPI deep-links.
- Upload Sensitive PII: Upload images to our servers (via the receipt scanner or profile picture) that contain highly sensitive personal information not relevant to expense tracking (e.g., full credit card numbers, Aadhaar numbers, PAN cards, Voter ID cards, passports, or health records).
- Upload Illegal Content: Post explicit, defamatory, illegal, or infringing content.
- Abuse the System: Spam contacts, send unsolicited payment reminders repeatedly, or use bots, scrapers, and automated scripts to interact with the Qurbill API or circumvent rate limits.
- Reverse Engineer: Attempt to decipher, decompile, disassemble, or reverse-engineer any of the software comprising the Service.
Violation of these guidelines may result in the immediate suspension or termination of your account without notice.

We may also revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be posted in the app. By continuing to use the Service after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable.
